Understanding Yoga's Essence and Language
What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word 'yoga' derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.
Core Philosophy
Yoga is more than just exercise; it's a holistic system for living. While the West often focuses on the physical poses (Asanas), traditional yoga includes ethical precepts, breath control, and meditation.
